Mike McCarthy updates Cowboys WR Amari Cooper’s status vs. Saints; Nahshon Wright tests positive
The news surrounding the COVID-19 protocols in Dallas keeps rolling in for the Dallas Cowboys.
As some players and coaches have already missed games this season with others set to not take part in Thursday’s matchup against New Orleans, head coach Mike McCarthy announced Thursday that cornerback Nahshon Wright has also tested positive for the virus and will miss the Saints game.

McCarthy, who is already in protocols himself, said he was suffering from a head cold during his virtual press conference Tuesday, but other than that, “I’m doing fine.”
The Cowboys coach also said wide receiver Amari Cooper, who is back in the building after missing the Cowboys’ past two games due to his own positive test, is “still not feeling the best” and it is to be determined if he will practice Tuesday.
“My gut would be if he doesn’t practice tomorrow, I don’t see him going to the [New Orleans] game,” McCarthy said via The Dallas Morning News’ Michael Gehlken.
The Cowboys have added 10 players to the COVID-19 list since Sept. 1, tops in the NFC East.
