Unleash your Pokémon-like teammates in Palworld

It's a carnivorous dog world. Or at least, that's the idea we got from the latest and completely banana trailer for the Pokémon-like Palworld RPG.

In case you don't catch it the first time around, Palworld is like giving a Pokémon a gun (and then some). PocketPair's open-world survival game takes adorable monsters and completely recreates the vast world around them. In this game, the creatures, known as Pals, are not only mineable but also edible. Its first trailer shows just how weird and unbelievable the game looks, as the creatures wield guns against each other. Now, a new trailer shared by developers on Friday suggests that they won't shy away from that initial chaos.

The trailer starts off relatively normal. You see close friends who live in harmony with everyone - they help out with household chores like gardening. You can ride larger Pals like in some Pokémon games. It's like, you know, the usual stuff you'd expect in an RPG like this. But just stick with it a little longer and you won't be disappointed. The cheerful, cheerful tone quickly changes as we see Pals being forced into factory labor and experimenting with them. One Pal even fainted on the assembly line. We see Pals cannibals. You will get points.

What must we do? Of course, take up arms. These pastel monsters aren't going anywhere and it looks like they're going to rush into the fray with you - armed with machine guns and all. At one point we see a giant creature that looks like a yellow version of Totoro wielding a giant six-barreled gun. So somehow, the developers were able to match the weirdness of the first trailer.

Palworld is scheduled to launch this year.
