MINECRAFT’S NEW FROGS WERE BRIEFLY SWALLOWING GOATS WHOLE

As part of experimental features in Minecraft Rug version 1.18.10, Mojang has revealed some of the frog abilities that are coming in this year’s Wild Update. They can eat small Slimes and small Magma Cubes, which is a habit enough to be silly. As Mojang shared during today’s Minecraft Live showcase, frogs had a brief period as apex predators capable of devouring entire herds of goats.

Players started noticing the frog’s barbaric behavior in the beta version of Minecraft for Windows in January. As some players realized, their hunger was insatiable.

They can eat small Slimes and small Magma blocks, it’s a silly habit. As Mojang shared during today’s Minecraft Live showcase, frogs had a brief period as apex predators capable of devouring entire herds of goats.

Players started noticing the frog’s barbaric behavior in the beta version of Minecraft for Windows in January. As some players realized, their hunger was insatiable.
“I’m developing frogs and I’m going to add this ‘crowd-eating’ behavior,” says Östman. “While testing it, I thought I could test it with goats.” “I would add temporarily that frogs can eat goats, which I consider very, very silly. What happened is, I forgot to remove that part of the code when I put it in beta, so in the beta In the first beta, the frogs actually ate the goats. The first time I saw a player post a video of this, I literally fell off my chair laughing because it was so funny.”
One of Mojang’s community managers went a step further and chained several goats to a fence post for an amphibian threat to devour them one by one, which just makes me think the frog isn’t want to be fed. Frogs want to hunt.

Östman was also quick to share another goofy mistake where frogs would get stuck slapping themselves in the face with slime stuck to their tongues instead of actually eating them.

Neither the goat swallow nor the frog face board is planned to make it into the final release of the 1.19 Wild Update, of course. Frogs have had limited appetite since beta update 1.18.10.27.
