What Is Attracting Deshaun Watson To The Falcons
On Thursday afternoon, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler had an update on Watson's interest in Atlanta.
Watson reports “felt the love” when it came to Atlanta’s plan and recruitment. As for the team's roster, it could acquire multiple running backs and wide receivers for Watson.
“After asking around, feeling is Falcons have stood strong in Deshaun Watson process and Watson has felt the love as far as the team’s plan and recruitment, with many people reaching out,” Fowler wrote. “Falcons can load up in 2023 w/ ample cap space. Short term, can add FA WRs and RBs pieces.”
Although the Falcons may have a slight edge in the Watson sweepstakes, Fowler said the Panthers and Saints are still in the mix.
“Saints have been firmly in the mix,” Fowler added. “The chance to win big and win soon is high on Watson’s priority list, and New Orleans offers that in short term. Panthers good roster, as well.”
There's still no timetable for Watson's decision. He could make a final decision by tonight, but there's just no telling when this blockbuster trade will go down.
